Hire a Tradie Australia

Introduction

Hire a Tradie Australia (“Hire a Tradie”, “we”, “our”, “us”) provides an online marketplace that connects individuals and businesses who need trade or handyman services (“Customers”) with tradespeople or service providers (“Tradies”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Hire a Tradie platform (website or mobile application) (“Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Our Role

Hire a Tradie is a facilitator only. We do not employ, contract, or control Tradies. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services offered. Contracts for services are solely between Customers and Tradies.

Eligibility

• Users must be at least 18 years old.
• Tradies must hold valid licences, registrations, and insurance required by law in the jurisdiction where services are provided.
• Users must provide accurate information and must not impersonate others.

User Accounts

• You are responsible for keeping your account login details secure.
• You must not share your account with others.
• We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breaches of these Terms.

Posting Jobs and Quotes

• Customers may post job requests with accurate descriptions.
• Tradies may submit quotes for jobs.
• Acceptance of a quote creates a binding contract directly between Customer and Tradie.

Payments & Subscriptions

Hire a Tradie provides subscription plans for Tradies to access verified job leads and platform tools. Subscriptions are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us and Stripe to charge your nominated payment method in accordance with your chosen plan.

• Monthly subscription: $49 AUD/month with a 7-day free trial.
• Annual subscription: $490 AUD/year with a 7-day free trial.
• Free trial: You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. If not cancelled, billing will begin automatically at the end of the trial.
• Billing: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the Stripe billing portal.
• Cancellations: You may cancel at any time. Access remains active until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial periods unless required by law.
• Failed payments: If a payment fails, your subscription may be suspended or terminated until the payment is resolved.
• Taxes: Users are responsible for any applicable taxes (including GST).

User Responsibilities

Customers must:

• Provide accurate job details.
• Ensure access to the property/worksite is lawful and safe.

Tradies must:

• Hold valid trade licences and comply with all laws.
• Perform work with due care, skill, and diligence.
• Maintain public liability insurance.

Reviews and Feedback

• Customers may leave reviews after jobs are completed.
• Reviews must be fair, accurate, and not defamatory.
• Hire a Tradie may remove reviews that breach these Terms or the law.

Prohibited Conduct

• Post false or misleading information.
• Engage in harassment, abuse, or discrimination.
• Circumvent the Platform to avoid fees (if applicable).
• Use the Platform for unlawful purposes.

Disputes

Disputes must first be attempted to be resolved directly between Customer and Tradie. Hire a Tradie may, at its discretion, assist with disputes but is not obliged to do so. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Liability and Indemnity

Hire a Tradie is not liable for loss, damage, injury, or disputes arising from use of the Platform. To the extent permitted by law, all warranties are excluded. Users indemnify Hire a Tradie against claims, damages, and costs arising from their use of the Platform.

Privacy

We collect and handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This includes information shared with Stripe to process subscriptions and payments.

Intellectual Property

All Platform content (including branding, software, and materials) is owned or licensed by Hire a Tradie. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute content without permission.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform without notice if:

• You breach these Terms.
• Fraudulent or unlawful activity is suspected.
• We are required by law to do so.

Amendments

We may amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be published on the Platform. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of NSW courts.
